These days the word 'coach' is thrown about with abandon. A coach, to me, is someone who can communicate well with people of all ages and gender, talk to and not at someone. Has the ability to work with any cricketer's level of skill. Doesn't try to change an individual's technique to suit the textbooks but figures out what works and is a more natural fit to their game. A coach builds a strong bond through relationship that forms an unshakeable trust with the player to believe they can reach their full potential. All these attributes I find in abundance in Laurie. I have two daughters who under the guidance of Laurie's vision and mentorship have blossomed into fine young cricketers. Both of whom are currently part of the CNSW Female Cricket Academy Illawarra Zone. None of this would have been possible without the inspiring, positive and safe environment Laurie has provided over the last couple of years, not to mention his wealth of knowledge and invaluable time. Something the girls and I will never forget.

My daughters Kayla and Ashleigh have attended several Pro Action Cricket camps over the years. I have found the coaches to be friendly, knowledgeable and engaging and the content of the cricket camps to be suitable for all skill levels. My children found the days fun and enjoyable whilst improving their cricket skills. Laurie has coached both of my daughters on an individual basis. He has devised a program for Kayla which has seen her recently selected in the Southern Zone NSW Female Cricket Academy squad and for Ashleigh who is about to start her first competitive season of cricket. I have found Laurie to be passionate about helping young cricketers reach their potential by helping them to develop a solid skill base and attitude. I have also found Laurie to be a wealth knowledge about the game. He is patient, engaging, and able to clearly communicate with the young cricketer of all skill levels. I highly recommend Laurie and Pro Action Cricket.

Laurie Heil aka “Loz” for me is not just a cricket coach and a mentor, but he is an institution. My son, Sunny, has worked with him for the last couple of years and the amount of time and effort he has put into the development of Sunny sees a confident young cricketer. Loz is full of energy, has passion and true love for one sport...CRICKET. His patience and perseverance as a coach and a mentor is truly admirable. He can speak your language, may you be a very young kid, teenager or an adult. Age is no barrier for him, as he tries to maintain the fitness level high and demonstrates immaculate work ethics and commitment when it comes to coaching and mentoring. We are extremely happy and fortunate to be associated with one of the modest and exemplary human beings in the cricketing fraternity of Illawarra, who has worked with some of the talented Aussie/International cricketers in their young age and exhibits an ability to produce many more ….
